Erwin Olaf in the Gemeentemuseum
Today I went to the Gemeentemuseum for the second time to see Erwin Olaf's retrospective. In honour of his sixtieth birthday, the Fotomuseum Den Haag and the Gemeentemuseum have organised a combined retrospective.
Last time, we started in the Fotomuseum. Olaf's early photos are on display here. This is generally the rawer work, mostly black and white. In the Gemeentemuseum, the more stylised work of the older Erwin Olaf is exhibited. Top work, related to Jeff Wall and Gregory Crewdson.
